BIM Engineer – Plumbing
Full Time Permanant Position - Pune, India (Remote)
We are seeking a skilled and experienced BIM Engineer specializing in plumbing systems for large-scale projects across the UK, Ireland, and the Middle East region. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Building Information Modeling (BIM) for plumbing design, including the use of Revit, AutoCAD, and other related software tools. You will work closely with project teams, architects, and other engineering disciplines to ensure the accurate modeling, design, and implementation of plumbing systems in various commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and manage plumbing BIM models, ensuring compliance with project requirements and specifications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate plumbing designs into overall building systems models.
Produce detailed plumbing design drawings, schedules, and specifications using Revit, AutoCAD, and other BIM tools.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve design issues and ensure the smooth integration of plumbing systems in complex building projects.
Conduct clash detection, coordination, and resolution using BIM software to avoid conflicts in plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.
Assist in the preparation of Bill of Quantities (BOQ), material take-offs, and cost estimates.
Support the project team in ensuring that all plumbing designs meet relevant building codes, standards, and regulations in the UK, Ireland, and Gulf regions.
Maintain project documentation and ensure that all BIM models are updated and compliant with the project scope.
Provide technical support and guidance to junior BIM staff and other team members.
Necessary Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Proven experience as a BIM Engineer, specifically for plumbing systems, with at least 3-5 years of experience on projects in the UK, Ireland, or the Middle East region.
Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and other BIM software.
In-depth knowledge of plumbing design, installation standards, and regulations in the UK, Ireland, and Middle East regions.
Experience in using BIM for clash detection, coordination, and model review.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Familiarity with building codes, health and safety standards, and regulations specific to plumbing systems in the regions mentioned.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and priorities efficiently.
Experience in preparing and managing technical documentation and submittals.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools.
